Our Objective
The objectives of our organisation, in a nutshell, are
as follows:
(1) Development of policy recommendation on welfare reforms and embarking on or participating in mass actions to enforce them
(2) Conducting studies into community development credit unions in the context of micro financing with a view to strengthening them.
(3) Assessment of employment programme that could increase job prospects of less privileged people.
(4) Research, training, advocacy, networking and circulation activities especially programmes on career after school, on sustainable land use practices, right to self-determination of indigenous people, media outreach on environmental issues, and internship for staff of Labour CEDRADS.
(5) Collaborating with a computer company and a human resources development company on job training in economically underdeveloped and environmentally degraded communities, provision of skills training for underprivileged youth and adults with a view to helping them to obtain jobs through an employment agency service.
(6) Encouraging the development of co-operatives so that economically disadvantaged people could obtain savings and credit services from banks. Sponsorship of staff members of Labour CEDRADS for internship with microcredit institutions.
(7) For a campaign of environmental awareness; for research on environmental problems and unemployment with a view to alerting workers and rural dwellers to the risks of industrial pollution and their right to demand compliance with environmental laws.
(8) Training and research on poverty.
(9) Development of means of financing employment training for the jobless.
(10) Creation of a Legal Defence and Education Fund and Opportunities to have access to social justice and/or legal services.
